Gantt Lake is situated in southern Alabama. It is formed by the dammed-up Conecuh River. Along its shores there are R. austrinum, R. canescens and R. minus. Even R. viscosum var. aemulans was found by Ron Miller and myself when visiting the are. Further there are dense stands of Kalmia latifolia, Illicium floridanum and Itea virginica. Unfortunately natural shore vegetation is declining, since more and more weekend homes are being built all around the lake with lawns down to the water’s edge.
