02.05.2018 Rebecca Mountain (AL, Clay Co.)

Rebecca Mountain is one of the southernmost places to find R. cumberlandense. One or two years before my visit there obviously was a prescribed burn in order to clean up the understory. This seems to have been highly successful since no azaleas could be seen any more, not even any that were recovering. After some search we fortunately found some in an untouched part of the forest.
