Having been here at Old Mill Park already on 4.5.2018 (see entry there), today we were only interested in the south side of the area, which lies steeply above the still young Chattahoochee here. A couple of hybrids between R. flammeum and R. canescens were already blooming as much as R. canescens itself. However, of the two large R. flammeum I had seen in 2018, I found only one left. On this one, the flower buds were stretching quite slowly after all. It was simply still too early in the year.
